Hundreds of homes at closing college campus among planning decisions next week

A new housing development on a college campus in Wythenshawe which is set to close next year could be given the green light by councillors next week.

The Manchester College Northernden campus in Sale Road is due to close in 2022 as it relocates to a new state-of-the-art building currently under construction at the former Boddingtons Brewery site in the city centre.

Plans to demolish the buildings on campus to make way for 224 houses - around one fifth of which would be affordable - are set to be approved.
