A woman's body was found in an ornamental lake in front of Kensington Palace and police are accused of telling the wrong family that it was their loved one.
The grim discovery in the Round Pond, near the home of Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children, occurred on August 29 as police and paramedics were called to Kensington Gardens in west London.
Officers still haven't confirmed the identity of the woman, who was pronounced dead after being retrieved from the water. The family of artist Endellion Lycett Green, granddaughter of former poet laureate Sir John Betjeman, claim they were wrongly told the body was hers in a case of mistaken identity, it is reported.
