mirror.co.ukAn abuser has been jailed after stabbing a woman with a screwdriver and throwing a kettle of boiling water over her. Shocking pictures show the extent of the life-changing injuries inflicted by Michael Fitzgerald last year.
A court heard that he stabbed his victim, 47, three times in the leg before chucking boiling water all over her back. Police were called to a property in Longsight, Manchester, in August and found the woman hiding from Fitzgerald, 43, in the garden.
Officers immediately began giving the victim first aid, as the abuser denied any knowledge of how the injuries had come about.
