Two historic Annan footbridges were washed away as the region was hit by flash floods at the end of last week.Town residents were shocked and saddened by the loss of the Cuthbertson Memorial Bridge and the Diamond Jubilee Bridge.And they turned out in force at an open air meeting on Friday morning to urge Dumfries and Galloway Council to replace the structures.The gathering was organised by businessman John Pagani, owner of the Cafe Royal, who said: “These were much loved bridges and tremendous assets to the town, it’s absolutely shocking to see them just gone.“At the Cafe Royal we have been doing our very best to serve and promote the town through the pandemic, with little assistance from the council.“When visitors to the town come in we
