The Highland League have opted to end their season early and declare runaway leaders Brora Rangers as champions. Football across all of Scotland's divisions is on hold due to the ongoing Covid-19 emergency and there has been much debate over how to conclude play if fixtures cannot be completed.
The SPFL, which houses the country's top four leagues, is in turmoil as decision-makers ponder whether to void the season altogether, call it early or resume at a later date when it is safe to do so.
Celtic have made it clear they feel declaring the season null and void would be unfair, while Rangers feel that crowning the champions before the season reaches its natural end would defy sporting integrity.
