Primark is set to reject around £30 million in government "bonuses" for bringing back furloughed staff, putting pressure on other big companies to follow suit.
The high-street retail giant said it will not claim Rishi Sunak's £1,000 treasury handout for every worker it brings back from furlough.
It comes after the chancellor announced £9billion in bonuses to firms who bring back furloughed staff as the UK's coronavirus bailout hit £310billion.
Companies will get the state handout for every job saved, where staff are brought back to work and kept on until the end of January.
