The tiger had escaped from the nearby Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, the Times of India reports. She too was attacked by the animal as she was punching and kicking, suffering a punctured lung after it swiped its claws at her chest.
Still, Archana managed to hold off the beast for long enough until fellow villagers came to help.They used sticks to beat the tiger, forcing it back into the woods.
