Scots woman who vanished two days ago ‘may be wearing bright pink jacket’

Police are appealing for help from the public to find a woman who vanished in Edinburgh two days ago. Averil Shepley was last seen in the Marchmont area of the capital at around 10.30pm on Friday, September 30.

The 47-year-old has failed to make contact since and has been reported as missing to Police Scotland. Officers say Averil was last seen wearing a black woolly hat with toggles on each side and black trousers.

She may also have a bright pink Gortex jacket on and could be carrying a black and red rucksack.The missing woman is described as being white, of a slight build, between 5ft 6in and 5ft 8in tall with short dark brown hair that has white streaks throughout.A statement from Police Scotland said: “We are appealing for the public’s help as part of our efforts to trace a woman reported missing in Edinburgh.
