Arsenal are currently toying with the idea of giving Henrikh Mkhitaryan a new contract despite planning to loan him out again.
The Armenia international was sent out to Roma for the season last summer after falling out of favour. But his time in Serie A has been plagued by injuries despite a good showing when he has played.
In 13 league appearances, he has netted six times but has been hampered by a torn abductor muscle. His loan is set to end in the summer and he will return to Arsenal.
Roma are keen to take him back but will not pay the €24m asking price. The Gunners are happy to see him leave but with his contract expiring in 2021 it will make a loan fruitless.
