It remains unclear where Mkhitaryan will play after this summer, with the Armenian set to return to Arsenal after spending the season on loan at Roma.
However, reports emerged in Italy that the midfielder demanded Arsenal sell him to Roma this summer and that he was finished with the Premier League. “My time in London is over, I hope you manage to find an agreement with Rome because my desire is to stay,” Mkhitaryan is alleged to have said by Corriere dello Sport.
His agent, Mino Raiola, has tried to put out the fire though by insisting that the reports were false, labelling it “fake news”.
