Return of football would send 'bad signal' that is above rest of the world

A leading figure for the world players' union Fifpro has hit out at the prospect of football resuming next month and insisted it would send a 'bad 'signal'.

Top flight Italian sides can return to individual training on May 4 and team training on May 18 after the Italian prime minister announced the first steps in lifting the country's coronavirus lockdown.

There are hopes Serie A fixtures could resume between the end of May and start of June, while Bundesliga stars have already returned to training with a view to staging games again next month.

The Premier League has targeted a return to training on June 1, wth games resuming four weeks later, depending on Government advice.
