Heaton Park lantern festival Lightopia pushes event dates back - but it will go ahead

The lakeside water show is also due to make its return next month.Festival organisers are currently working with local authorities to find a way to host the event safely and in a new socially-distanced format.Measures in place will include a one-way system and social distancing measures (including wider footpaths) overseen by stewards, contact tracing, card payments and contactless ticket scanning.There'll also be no alcohol served on site this year.Lightopia will be open at Heaton Park from Thursday December 3 until Sunday January 10, between 5pm and 10pm.Last entry will be at 10.30pm each day.Advance tickets are priced at £20 for adults (or £22.
