Edinburgh Castle on Saturday to mark the passing of Prince Philip. Landmarks across the UK will take part in the salute, which will kick off from midday.The 105th Regiment Royal Artillery will fire one round at the start of each minute for 40 minutes from Edinburgh Castle as part of the day of remembrance.Similar salutes will also take place in Belfast, Cardiff, London and Gibraltar at the same time.
The gun salute will be broadcast online and on television. Scots have been urged to pay their respects from home due to the coronavirus fears.
