Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Groom beat new bride to death on wedding day after prison release for another murder

A bride was beaten to death by her new husband who flew into a rage at their wedding party, say police. Groom Stepan Dolgikh, 33, has been arrested on suspicion of beating wife Oksana Poludentseva, 36, to death on the day they married.

Dolgikh had a previous conviction for murder but the bride - who got to know him while he was in prison - believed she could tame him, detectives believe.

Witnesses said the beating began when the groom became “jealous” of another guest at their alcohol-fuelled wedding party in a private house in Prokudskoye village, Novosibirsk region.
