Leah Heyes, 15, also known as Leah Elwin, collapsed in a car park in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, last May. She had taken two MDMA “bombs”, each one enough to kill her.Leah suffered a “rapid cardiac arrest” and was unresponsive after being taken to James Cook University Hospital, an inquest at County Hall heard.
A postmortem found there were “acute changes to the heart muscle cells” and evidence of previous cocaine use, The Yorkshire Post reports.
Det Sgt Chris Parker said a group of 30 teens had decided to dabble in drugs on May 11 last year.Leah and a pal wanted to try ecstasy and a £10 dose of the drug was purchased that day for the pair.
