A 13-year-old girl was left horrified after discovering shards of what she initially thought was glass in her Costa Coffee drink.
The girl, who does not wish to be named, had got the watermelon and coconut fruit cooler as a treat from her mum Anna at a Costa Coffee drive-thru in Cornwall last Friday.
Anna Wright has now spoken of her terror as her daughter screamed and made a choking noise before spitting what looked like pieces of glass into her hand.
The girl was rushed to A&E where a doctor also thought the cup was full of tiny shards of glass. But an 'initial investigation' by Costa revealed the drink actually contained hundreds of pieces of plastic.
