nut-free flight saw her booted off the plane by less than compassionate American Airlines staff who told her they were contractually obliged to serve nuts to first class passengers.Sophie Draper an electrical engineer and PHD student at Durham University alleges she was discriminated against by American Airlines staff due to her nut allergies, which she says are so severe they can be triggered by airborne particles.The 26-year-old was supposed to fly with her boyfriend from New York to Heathrow in December however was not permitted to board the plane after raising her concerns about her health with American Airline staff.
Ms Draper tried to flag her allergy with the airline prior to departure but there was no way to do so online, reports the HuffPost.
