A girl born without a hand has been given the Christmas present of her dreams – a bionic limb. Lexi Pitchford, 10, is now looking forward to opening her gifts and getting stuck into a traditional festive roast – both things she has previously struggled to do.
The youngster was born without a right hand and, although she learned to adapt, found everyday tasks such as holding a pen and brushing her teeth difficult.
But life will be very different for Lexi now, thanks to her new custom-made Hero Arm from Open Bionics – which arrived just in time for Christmas.
Mum Emma Mountford said: “It’s completely changed Lexi’s life. "Lexi’s always been the last to open her presents as she struggled to get into them.
