Gary Neville has lifted the lid on his time as manager of Valencia, revealing that he "underestimated how difficult it would be" and that he "ignored Sir Alex Ferguson 's advice".
The Manchester United legend had an ill-fated 28 game spell in charge of the Spanish club back in November 2015 and was sacked just four months later after recording the lowest win percentage in La Liga history for a Valencia manager.
Reflecting on his time at the helm on an episode of Sky Sports Off Script Podcast , Neville admitted that there was "a little bit of arrogance, a bit of ego" involved in his decision to take the role in the first place. "I think at that point, I'd lived through Man United for 20 years, I'd gone to Sky and it had gone well.
