Gary Lineker’s son George has signed up to be an NHS volunteer, after recovering from coronavirus-like symptoms. The 28-year-old was never tested for coronavirus, but ‘assumes’ he was struck down with Covid-19 after experiencing symptoms related to the virus.

George kept fans updated with his condition over a 15-day period and after likening the illness to a ‘rollercoaster’, he’s revealed he’s now signed up to help with volunteering efforts.

Taking to Instagram, George shared a screenshot of his volunteer profile after his application to be an NHS volunteer was successful.

He captioned his post: ‘Gotta do your bit … looking forward to volunteering for the NHS.’ His famous footballer dad Gary was all for it and commented: ‘Yes G.
