Fundraiser for Brit veteran killed in Ukraine continues to rake in donations

British army veteran killed fighting in the Ukraine war has seen donations flood in as people continue to pay tribute. Scott Sibley, known as 'Sibs' to his pals, died last week after reportedly volunteering in support of Ukrainian forces.Early reports suggested that he and another Brit who is now missing had both been fighting against the invading Russian army, though the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) have not provided details on what the men were doing in the country.In a statement, the Foreign Office said: “We can confirm that a British national has been killed in Ukraine and are supporting their family."One former soldier described Scott as "a good lad with not a care in the world, a can do attitude and always found the funny side in anything".A GoFundMe page set up in his memory six days ago by Kate Barker in support of Scott's wife Victoria Sibley meanwhile managed to meet its fundraising target of £1,000 in a single day.It has since gone on to more than double this total to £2,124, with friends, family and members of the public leaving words of support, celebrating his life and service.For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here.One woman addressed Mrs Sibley in a touching tribute which read: "So sorry for your loss Vicki.
