A 15-year-old schoolgirl was viciously attacked by a group of youngsters as she walked her dog. Detectives in Tameside have launched an urgent investigation and four teenagers have been arrested - the youngest a girl aged 13.
Greater Manchester Police said the girl went to hospital after the attack, but fortunately wasn't seriously hurt. The force said she was left 'understandably shaken' and was being supported by her family.
They described the assault as an 'isolated incident', but believe there were several witnesses who saw what happened. They are now being urged to come forward.
The girl was attacked by a group described by police as comprising of 'females and males' as she walked her dog near to Medlock Leisure Centre, off Gardenfold Way, in Droylsden, Tameside, at about 8pm last Saturday, March 26.
