Kilmarnock star Michael Nelson has been handed a north-east derby for his managerial debut in the FA Cup. The towering centre-back, who was part of Killie's famous 1-0 win over Celtic in the 2012 League Cup final, is now boss of National League North side Blyth Spartans.And the Northumberland outfit have been drawn away to Northern League part-timers Whitley Bay in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.The two towns are separated by less than seven miles of coastline and both clubs will be hoping fans are given the green light to attend.
Nelson, 40, told Blyth Spartans' Twitter page: "It’s a good draw as far as the location goes and it’s great for the area to have a bit of a local derby. "Hopefully, that can generate a bit of interest.
