Strictly's Amanda Abbington's fiancé sues over failed TV stunt that left him paralysed

An escapologist who was left paralysed attempting to perform a stunt during rehearsals of America's Got Talent has started legal action against producers. Jonathan Goodwin, who is engaged to Strictly Come Dancing Star Amanda Abbington, was left with life-changing injuries after he got crushed between two burning cars.The failed stunt which happened during America's Got Talent: Extreme rehearsals, at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, in October 2021. He was supposed to escape a strait jacket while upside down 30ft in the air in between two suspended cars.

Heidi Klum is opening up about why she chose to speak out against reports claiming she only eats 900 calories a day.Klum spoke with ET's Brice Sander on Wednesday, afterfirst live results show, where she was joined by fellow judge Sofia Vergara and host Terry Crews.The 50-year-old supermodel and fashion icon addressed the diet reports — as well as her initial response, which she posted to social media Wednesday morning — and argued, «I have literally never counted calories!»«I just hate when people lie like that, because, especially, you know, there's so many people out there that follow or read this and they say, 'Oh, she does this, so now I'm only gonna eat 900 calories,'» Klum said. «I mean, that's beyond bonkers.»Vergara was surprised by the reports, which she hadn't read about before the trio spoke with ET, and said why the 900-calorie diet claim made no sense to her.«That's not true, because you come into my dressing room and eat my stuff, [like] my sandwiches and stuff,» Vergara said, as Crews chimed in, stating, «I believe this.»Klum said that she's used to false rumors and reports about her, and she's learned to ignore them, but she felt it was important to speak out because of the impact the story could have on other people.«When it's about other people's health, I feel like I have to step in and say, 'Wait a minute,'» Klum shared.

kicked off its 18th season on Tuesday and proved that even after all the thousands of auditions seen over the years there are still a lot of amazing acts out there looking for recognition.The show's stalwart stars — including judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum, as well as host Terry Crews — returned to the Pasadena Civic Auditorium as a whole new slew of hopefuls hit the stage to show off their skills.However, there were a few that clearly stood out — and one that inspired the judges to hand out the first of the season's coveted Golden Buzzers.The Mzansi Youth Choir, a collection of amazing singers from South Africa, came out with an amazing cover of a song called «It's OK,» written by former contestant Nightbirde, who died shortly after having to drop out of the season following a battle with cancer.The performance was breathtaking and uplifting and hit very close to home for the judges — all of whom had formed a connection to Nightbirde before her tragic passing.Simon was brought to tears and had a hard time getting out his words before showering the choir with love and praise.«I know how much this would have meant to her. Right until the end, she was so passionate about sharing her music,» a tearful Simon shared.
