Simon Cowell has taken to social media to pay tribute to America’s Got Talent singer Nightbirde. Nightbirde, real name Jane Marczewski, passed away aged 31 on Saturday 19 February after battling cancer.
She’d been receiving treatment for the illness, but tragically it spread to her lungs, spine and liver. Her family issued a statement yesterday, Tuesday 22 February, confirming the sad news of Jane’s passing.They said: “After a four-year battle with cancer, Jane Kristen Marczewski, also known as Nightbirde, passed away on February 19th, 2022. "Many remember her from America’s Got Talent, where she performed her hit song "It’s OK" and inspired millions of people around the globe with her messages of faith and never giving up." They continued: "Those who knew her, enjoyed her larger-than-life personality and sense of humour.
She had a witty joke for every occasion—even if the joke was on her." The late singer stunned America's Got Talent viewers with her audition last year, as Simon Cowell hit the golden buzzer after her incredible performance.
She sang her own track It’s OK, a song she penned about her cancer battle, and the single made it to the top of the iTunes chart.
