Ayrshire's war hero cops.Alasdair Malcolm, who served as a South Ayrshire PC for 30 years, has honoured the fallen with his work.The commemorative book covers the history of the Ayrshire police war memorial and the individuals named on it.Some 21 officers are listed on the memorial, which sits within Ayr police station, after they fell in the two world wars.Alasdair, who joined Strathclyde Police at the age of 20, said: "I felt it was important to chart the history of the war memorial, remembering as it does the Ayrshire Constabulary and Kilmarnock Burgh Police forces who made the ultimate sacrifice."The book gives some background of policing by the two forces, and the Ayr Burgh Police force, during both conflicts.The Ayrshire Live app is.
