The Foreign Office has warned Brits 'against all but essential travel' to Spain. It took the decision after a spike in coronavirus cases in several Spanish regions including Aragon, Navarra and Catalonia.
The government department's official website says the designation was based on an assessment of 'Covid-19 risks'. However, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islants are exempt from the travel advice.
It states: "From 26 July, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises against all non-essential travel to mainland Spain based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.
