On reflection, it is fair to say that David Moyes’ short spell at Manchester United did not go well. Appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor in 2013, there was hope that the Scotsman, who had been Everton manager for 11 years, would simply continue where his compatriot left off.
That didn’t happen. Instead, Moyes guided United to a dismal seventh-placed finish in the Premier League and was sacked just 10 months after his arrival on April 22, 2014 - six years ago.
