A "cute and sweet" schoolboy who died after being hit by a car as he crossed the road has been named and pictured for the first time.
Eight-year-old Safiullah Asif died after he was hit by the vehicle in Tameside, Greater Manchester. The "calm, cute and sweet" eight-year-old was struck by a BMW as he crossed the road close to his family home in Ashton-under-Lyne on Thursday evening.
He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries following the July 23 crash on Ryecroft Street at around 8:15pm. Safiullah died in hospital on Friday.
Two men have been arrested in connection with his death, reports the Manchester Evening News. His family were today said to be too upset to speak.
