17-year-old boy appears in court accused of murder of Mohamoud Mohamed

Manchester Magistrates Court this morning (August 3).He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.The teenager, of Openshaw, is charged with one offence of murder of Mohamoud Mohamed and an offence of possession of a bladed article, both taking place on July 26.No pleas were entered.

At around 7.15pm last Sunday (July 26), police were called to Henbury Street, Moss Side after they received reports of a disturbance.Emergency services attended and 17-year-old Mohamoud was pronounced dead at the scene.There was no application for bail.The boy was remanded into youth detention accommodation and will next appear at Manchester Crown Court for a preliminary hearing tomorrow (August 4).Get breaking news first on the free Manchester.
