A flare was thrown into the home end that forced Tottenham's supporters back as the missile was extinguished.Marseille fans also tore down a Pride flag that was hanging up on the corner of the ground with many supporters donning masks and scarfs wrapped around faces.
Speaking on talkSPORT commentary, Sam Matterface said: “Unseemly scenes. There’s a hoard of stewards and riot police getting involved now as bottles are thrown from either side of the divide.“That is absolutely a disgraceful way to end the match… police are trying to form a line between the two sets of fans to stop missiles being thrown between the two sets of supporters."The chaotic scenes put a dampener on what was otherwise a fine night for Tottenham in the Champions League as they returned to the competition with a win.
