Female footballer brilliantly shoots down sad trolls who tell her "they're horny"
dailystar.co.ukFootball ace Gabriella Howell has brilliantly closed down a troll who claimed female players are picked on their looks.The 22-year-old Sutton United player has been on the receiving end of sexist abuse online.
One troll in particular said: “That’s the trouble with women’s football, I think players are picked on looks rather than talent." But she snapped back with: “You can be both - you can play football and like wearing high heels."Howell was speaking to the Mirror about her passion for the game and the fact that she often comes under criticism by trolls who believe women don’t belong in the game. "Men will say they’re horny underneath my photos of me playing football - and if I tag my club in the post it’s embarrassing,” she said.But she claims that she opts not to delete any of the hateful messages she receives.
She explained: "I like to keep [the hateful comments] on my profiles and I don’t delete them."Young girls think they want to be an influencer but they don’t see the downsides.
I like to make people aware. Not everyone’s going to like you. I repeat that to myself when I see these comments. You got to develop a thick skin.” Do you think more should be done to target trolls?
