Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has revealed that he was addicted to painkiller for 10 years. The 41-year-old, who retired from professional football in 2016, has opened up about his battle with addiction, having given up painkillers back in February this year.
He has admitted that he realised he had a serious problem earlier this year after finding himself lost in Liverpool, a city he lived in for five years earlier in his career.Speaking to The Guardian, Kirkland explained: "I thought I was going to die.
