Everton have reportedly ended their pursuit of Donny van de Beek, although the midfielder’s future at Manchester United remains up in the air.
The Dutchman has struggled to force his way into the first team picture since arriving at Old Trafford from Ajax last year. Having found himself continually frustrated under previous boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Van de Beek was handed his first start under new interim manager Ralf Rangnick in Wednesday’s draw with Young Boys in the Champions League.
The 24-year-old though has been strongly linked with a move away over recent months, with ESPN reporting that while he is set to be given more chances under Rangnick, his long-term future remains undecided.
