Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has already provided Manchester United with an insight into what he could bring to Old Trafford if they were to turn to him to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United made the decision to relieve Solskjaer of his duties on Sunday morning following Saturday afternoon's 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road.
It was a fifth defeat in seven Premier League games for the Reds and meant that the club felt they had no choice but to make a difficult decision on the Norwegian's future.
United considered sacking Solskjaer after the defeat to Liverpool last month, but the lack of a succession plan being in place meant they were forced into a climb down.
