England fans have been raging at calls to change their Lionesses' nickname to just Lions after being branded sexist. However, it has been pointed out to those offended that the female lions are actually more powerful than their male counterparts and that the nickname should stick.

But culture secretary Nadine Dorries has hit back at those claims and branded the idea to change the nickname as "nonsense" on LBC this Friday morning.
