Emmanuel Adebayor has put his future at new club Olimpia in doubt after being held in quarantine after attempting to fly home to his family in Togo.

The 36-year-old’s efforts to escape the coronavirus outbreak were left in disarray after he was held during a stop-over in Benin after flying back from Paraguay.

Adebayor, a former Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and Crystal Palace forward, signed for Paraguayan club Olimpia last month.

But after the South American country was placed in partial lockdown due to coronavirus fears he decided to escape to be with his family.
