EastEnders will be returning to its four-nights-a-week schedule when it returns after its lockdown break. The BBC soap was forced to halt filming over the coronavirus pandemic, and despite moving to a reduced schedule since March, still ran out of episodes.
This pushed show bosses to take the soap off air from next week, with filming resuming at the end of June. And as filming the scenes is now "more complex" due to social distancing measures, the episode lengths have been shortened.
