Dumfries' free summer music school hitting all the right notes
dailyrecord.co.ukA free music summer school for children aged between seven and 11 in Dumfries has been hitting the right notes.Dumfries-based musician and educator Rory Comerford – also known as Rua Soul – is running the popular one-and-a half hour gatherings every Tuesday during the school summer holidays at Solway House on the Crichton Campus – with advanced bookings essential.The workshops feature a range of enjoyable learning experiences including Scots song, beat-making, songwriting, percussion, ceilidh dancing, games and more.He said: “The workshops are designed for young people to have fun, build confidence and develop social skills and creativity.”Photographer Les Snowdon was out and about with his camera on Tuesday meeting some of the youngsters enjoying the session.
