Dr Saman Mir Sacharvi and her daughter Vian Mangrio were discovered at their house on Colne Road in Burnley at around 8.45am on Thursday, October 1.
Today, Lancashire Police confirmed they had launched a murder investigation.Detective Supt Jon Holmes, Head of Major Crime said in a statement that Dr Saman Mir Sacharvi, 49, died as a result of pressure to the neck.She had also suffered an assault, a home office post-mortem confirmed.The post-mortem investigation is still ongoing into the cause of Miss Mangrio's death, but police confirmed she was found badly burnt inside the house.Officers who attended the scene of the tragedy also discovered evidence of fire and smoke damage.Specially trained officers are supporting the family of Dr Sacharvi.
