A dog-walker is fighting for his life after being knocked down by a BMW in a hit-and-run. The 35-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following the incident in Middleton on Sunday night.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The victim suffered 'life threatening injuries' after being hit by a blue BMW 320 while walking his dog on Hollin Lane at about 9.15pm.
