Owner Sarah Emrick, 23, was taking her dog Buddy to the streets as she joined hundreds of other citizens to protest the death of Mr Floyd, who died shortly after being filmed pinned to the ground by his neck by an officer from the Minneapolis Police Department.
Footage shared on Twitter shows Sarah walking Buddy, on a leash, while the pooch holds a cardboard placard with "Black Lives Matter" trawled across it.
Sarah joins other demonstrators at a "Be Heard, Be Safe; Rally for Justice" protest organised on Facebook as they march from Inwood Park towards downtown areas on Sunday afternoon.
