ITV confirming the sad news.Over the last 16-years, fans have tuned in to see a grump village GP played by Martin Clunes who first appeared on screens back in 2004.Martin, 58, created the TV drama with his wife, Phillipa Braithwaite but previously warned that his character may not appear again, in 2017.After 16 years and 70 episodes, it's now been confirmed that Doctor Martin Ellingham will be waving goodbye to the Cornish seaside in 2021.A statement released by Buffalo Pictures, Martin and Phillipa's production company read: "We have loved making nine series of Doc Martin."When we launched the series in 2004 we could never have imagined how much our loyal viewers would take to the grumpy Doc like they have.""The series has avid fans both.
