She admitted to altering the payment date on the note and apologised in writing, later stating that she had ‘panicked’.A tribunal hearing held before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal heard Williams admitted to three episodes of misconduct over a 16-month period.The first incident related to Williams accepting £4,500 in cash from a client in order to discharge counsel fees, but she kept £2,000 of that money without authority and failed to pay it into the client account.The tribunal was told she had altered the fee note from 18 St John Street Chambers, dated March 16 2018, in order to disguise the true date on which the payment was.
