David Bentley revealed that he developed a reputation as the team prankster while at Blackburn by taking the wheel of the team coach while the squad were on a preseason tour in America.
Bentley came through the youth ranks at Arsenal in the early 2000s and was considered a huge prospect, but the playmaker never managed to break into the first XI.
In his first match after permanently signing for Blackburn, he scored his first senior hat-trick in a 4–3 victory against Manchester United.
With his career set to take off in a dressing room that included the likes of Craig Bellamy, Robbie Savage and Dominic Matteo, Bentley felt like he could be himself and that his maverick streak was appreciated.
