David Beckham has joined the fight against malaria by taking part in a new charity campaign where he allowed himself to be digitally aged to look 70 years old.

Last year alone the disease which is caused by the bite of an infected mosquito claimed the lives of 409,000 people with half of the world’s population at risk of contracting it.

Those most at risk include children under five, pregnant women, and those who are immune suppressed. The former England captain, who is 45, still looked devilishly handsome as he was digitally altered to look 25 years older.

The Malaria Must Die, So Millions Can Live campaign shows him still with a full head of hair but also sporting a snow-white beard and just a few more lines.
