The Beckhams are hoping to build a whopping 117.5sq-metre wine cellar under the garage at their £6million Cotswolds home. The famous pair received planning permission for a 81sq-metre cellar at the Grade II-listed converted barn back in June, but have now updated the plans lodged with West Oxfordshire District Council.
The proposed cellar is bigger than the average three-bedroom new build house in Britain, which is 88 sq metres, according to the Royal Institute of British Architects 2011 The Case for Space Report.
Originally the Beckhams had proposed a tunnel linking the cellar to their home, but have now scrapped this idea in favour of a larger cellar, accessed via a staircase.
