The ex Another Level singer sparked outrage with a message posted on the social media site yesterday, in which he accused protesters of "jumping on the bandwagon with this whole black power thing".
Floyd died on May 25 while in police custody, with video then emerging showing a white Minneapolis officer kneeling on his neck for eight minutes as he pleaded for his life.
Four cops are now facing charges over his death, and the killing has sparked mass protests in the US which have spread across the world.
