A man who battled drug addiction and lived in a tent for years has transformed his life around and is now helping other people in recovery.
Ben Koba was regularly using cocaine and heroin for seven years until he realised, “something’s got to change here or I’m going to f*****g die”.
The 35-year-old revealed it was the thought of never seeing his daughter, whom he hadn't seen in two years, that made him return to his love of fishing, which played a huge role in his recovery.
With his “meagre benefits” he bought a rod, reel, bait and hooks from his local fishing shop and went down to the water on his own in the middle of winter.
