Proud, who claimed to be an ex-professional footballer in his Twitter bio, replied to one of Owen's tweet with: “Can’t wait to see her getting smashed,” along with laughing emojis and a thumbs up.That triggered the former Liverpool and England striker to respond with: “What a fine example to set from a man in your responsible position.”Others on Twitter also chimed in by slamming Proud for his comments, with one user tweeting: "Nice comment from a fella who works with youths.”Another added: "U18 coach of a girls team too.”Proud has since revealed to The Scottish Sun that he no longer works at the club.

He said he had “removed” himself from the club despite the post being made “in jest” and “taken out of context”.Daily Star Sport has also reached out to Glasgow City FC for comment.It comes after Owen admitted he was concerned about Gemma’s appearance on the show due to contestants having to kiss each other.
